You’ve finally come home from a long day at work. You’re ready to do your favorite thing in the world: watch Family Guy clip compilations and forget you exist. But your goddamn roommate Rye has to interrupt at the last minute to read you some of his tweets. Which can’t be that bad, right? It’s not like there’s anything dangerous about tweets.

This show is characterized by its humor, irony, and that desperate sense of needing to veg out at home but continuing to be irritated by everything stopping you from relaxing. Every moment we could make the media have some unexpected moment of working against its characters we took. Spelling out “family guy clip compilation” on the Roku TV remote takes up a whole frustrating 120 seconds, as you mispell each word and need to go back to rewrite it in the search bar, none of the clips hit juuuust right so you stop and fast-forward and skip to the next one, and when your roommate’s suicide attempt (because you won’t laugh at his tweet drafts) ends up failing, you un-pause the part where Peter drives a van down a water slide. In the end though, everything works out because you’re both transported to the purple cosmopolitan land of Roku City.
